We have some incredible news to share, and honestly, we’re still pinching ourselves.
On January 6, 2026, Kabob-It was officially honored by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson with a community development grant. This isn't just a win for our team; it’s the fuel that is powering our next big chapter: expanding to the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) this fall!
A Vision Recognized
The community development grant is a testament to the hard work, fresh flavors, and local spirit that define Kabob-It. Being recognized by the Mayor’s office is a milestone we never imagined when we first fired up the grill. This grant allows us to bring our signature Mediterranean fusion to the vibrant student body and faculty at IIT, bridging the gap between great food and a world-class education.
To Our Community: Thank You
While the grant is the "how," you are the "why."
We want to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Kabob-It throughout the years. We would not be here right now if it weren't for the community embracing this vision and supporting it.
Your belief in our mission to serve authentic, high-quality food that brings people together has turned a small dream into a Chicago staple.
